city and public spaces
The city is a collective project, and the
quality of life of its inhabitants relies
largely on making them feel part of that
project and enhancing collaboration with
other people. Common problems in the city require collective solutions.
Urban quality can only be pursued by
balancing between basic needs and
trascendental objectives; private pleasures and public goods; citizens’ belongings and shared facilities. Public spaces, in their broadest meaning, should therefore be the ideal framework for citizens to construct full lives together.
